The introduction of the mandatory energy performance labelling (MEPL) and minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) legislation for appliance will help to prevent importation of poor energy performing appliances at the point of sale. Appliances will be aligned to the Pacific Appliance Labelling and Standards (PALS). The PALS program considers MEPS and MEPL.
